Christian Brothers Band Honors Clinic

The Christian Brothers Band Honors Clinic is a concert band for boys and girls from 5th – 9th grade. It is an experience that brings together students from many different schools and educational backgrounds and allows them to perform in a quality musical group.

Guest Clinicians will be Mr. Nick Savely, band director at Northpoint and Mrs. Regan Leigh Neria, Orff Music Specialist at Dexter K8. 


The clinic spans two days at Christian Brothers High School (5900 Walnut Grove, 38120).

​

Students should have at least 6 months of experience on their instrument. A $25 fee should be mailed in with the application or brought to campus on the first day of the clinic. All applicants will be accepted (no emails home will be sent) and seating is determined by their application form.

Dress is casual on Friday and
Dress or Shirt and Tie on Saturday for the concert.

NICK SLAVELY

Nick Savely is the assistant director of bands at Northpoint Christian School and is the director of the Southaven Community Wind Ensemble. He received his Associate of Arts degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College, and his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The University of Mississippi. He has studied under Jeff Triplett, David Wilson, Micah Everett, and Rhonda Hackworth. He is very passionate about music and music education and plans to pursue his Doctorate of Musical Arts in conducting in the near future.

REGAN LEIGH NERIA

Leigh Neria, a Birmingham, Alabama native, earned a B.S. in Education with a concentration in Instrumental Music from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She studied clarinet under Dr. Scott Bridges, performed with the Alabama Wind Ensemble under Dr. Gerald Welker and Kenneth Ozzello, and was a member of the Million Dollar Band.

Leigh began her teaching career in Memphis City Schools in 2000 and later earned a master’s in administration and supervision from Grand Canyon University in 2010. She has served in both instructional and administrative roles within Memphis/Shelby County Schools and has provided private woodwind instruction in the Memphis area for over 25 years. Additionally, Leigh is the Orff Music Specialist at Dexter K8 and is a member of the Bellevue Sanctuary Orchestra.
